Donahoo's Myst / Uru Story

Although I got into the first Uru Live when they let everyone in January, I spent all my time in the hoods and playing through the ages. I signed up for Until Uru when it first opened in August 2004.

The first time I heard music in Until Uru when EricL and some friends were sitting at the docks on the Tapestry Shard. I don't remember who was broadcasing over voice chat, but I was immediately hooked.

On November 4, 2004, the Tapesty Activity Group (TAG) put on a workshop teaching people how to broadcast music over voice chat. It included instructions on how to set up your computer, and they helped you test it. I had already been using my computer to convert vinyl albums and cassettes to CD's.

Later that year, I hosted a Ladies' Garden Club meeting and entertained the ladies with rock and roll music over voice chat.
In January 2005, I was asked by TheThunder to host the first D'ni Happy Hour which took place on Thursday evening in the Kahlo Pub on Tapestry Shard. The next week's feature was Comedy Night, but music proved to be more popular than comedy and they found it difficult to find comedians every week.

In March I was asked to help with the music for the first Tapestry St. Patrick's Day Parade and EricL started a Teamspeak server for us to use.

Gazerwolf took over the D'ni Happy Hour in April of 2005, playing different music genres every other week. He started using the Tapestry Teamspeak server as well as using the voice chat, which made it possible for partygoers to spread out all over the shard. This helped relieve party-killing lag.

Gazerwolf gave up hosting the Happy Hour in October 2005 and I took over. Lord Chaos and I shared duties for Happy Hour and for a while there was a party every week.
In December 2005, there was a failed attempt at creating a comtemporary music party in the Kadish Gallery, which TheThunder hoped to bring in a younger crowd. This was called Studio D'ni and it only lasted about a month.

In February 2006, Cyan opened the D'mala Until Uru Shard and we moved there renaming it the D'ni  Cocktail Party and moving to a neighborhood because there was no population limit. In April 2005 the party was moved to the Kadish Gallery where it remained until the closure of Until Uru.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
