When I played my first Myst game (Myst), I was hooked. There weren't too many games for the mac back then, and every time a new one came out, I was in awe. I'd put my earphones on ...and escape into a world of beauty & lore. The music still chills me to the bone. I read all the books that were written, and I searched the Internet for more information, and I couldn't get enough of the story and background. Ever since then, I've always looked for "Myst" type games to play first & fourmost as my preference. There's something about being taken away...wisked off the planet, and exploring. It's like a vacation! ...only cheaper! I'm a very visual person ...my eyes take pictures all the time, so you can imagine how the Myst games sent chills down by spine. Because Uru was never published for the mac, it was the only Myst game I had never played. For Christmas 2007, I got a new mac laptop with the Intel processor that allowed me to play MU:OL. I was so excited and of course, the game was incredible. But I was a little shy about the community because I had never participated in an online game before (you see! I don't even know what they call them!!!) . But if it wasn't for the kindness & patience & true devotion this community has, I would have been silent & afraid to join in. I was amazed that people where so helpful and genuine. My first party, is where I discovered UruTunes. I can't tell you how much fun it was to dance to music that everybody was listening to! Before, I thought everybody was just dancing to the music in their heads!!!! Thanks to SwiftHawk, I got interested in sharing some of my screenshots in the Media Gallery. Then I created a video of Uru (for myself mainly) because I figured that it would be the only Myst game I would never revisit again because I don't have a PC. When I started visiting the Bevins for photo shoots, that's when I really got to know people...and everyone cracked me up. Jumping & waving together at the count of 3! I never knew there were so many nuts out there besides me!!!! Then I saw the St. Patricks Day parade video...I gotta tell you, that commentary & watching all those people walking cracked me up, sooo much fun...so creative. It was at that moment I realized that I was gonna lose something really special when the Cavern closed down. And I have.
