Beyond URU: A potential Web Series
Filmed from a first-person perspective, like The Blair Witch Project or Cloverfield, this possible Web Series, Beyond URU, will show the continuing explorations of Riffkin, his best friend Bryan, and will eventually continue to include more diverse people. Each episode will be shot on a different location and will try to pick up right after the storyline created from the previous episode. The series will be all Improv-Acting and will incorporate new worlds that relate to the worlds created in the game Myst Online: URU Live. Many of the worlds will not be incorporated since "The DRC burnt all the 'Relto Linking Books' and have obtained all linking books that were once available to the Civilian Explorers." As will be explained as the story progresses. The basic premise is that the U.S. Government, with reluctant help from the DRC, is now in the process of capturing the Bahro, an ancient civilization that was once enslaved by the D’ni, to create new worlds to inhabit. In retaliation, the Bahro have escaped and assembled away from the officials who are now running the D’ni worlds and have created links to different areas of those worlds, in an attempt to hide from and eventually escape capture by the U.S. Government and the DRC. Riffkin stumbles upon those worlds, as the Bahro were hoping, and learns more about what is happening. He also learns that the Bahro are trying to get the explorers back into the D’ni culture, since the Bahro way of life went downhill when the explorers were forced to leave. As the series progresses, I am hoping more people will join in and submit their own first-person videos, showing their own explorations into the depths of the worlds of Myst. Eventually I want each of the explorers of URU to add their own episodes to this web series, spanning over more different locations and creating different worlds.
